Bubbles of Life

At the end of every year or the beginning of a new year I create some mandalas to say good-bye to the old year and welcome in the new. I started this several years ago when I purchased a workbook from Heather Plett on how to do this. I follow it almost every year and find it a great way to reflect on and celebrate the year gone by and to set intentions for what the soul desires for the coming year.

This year, when I finished all my mandalas for the year, I felt the need to do another one. The picture above is what emerged. It started out as the Bubbles of Life but then by the time I finished it, it also felt like the Yearnings of My Soul! As I was finishing the mandala, this poem came to me.

Bubbles of Life
Life is a huge bubble
With lots of little bubbles in it
There’s family and joy,
Fun, and love, and creating,
There’s being grounded,
And new sights and sounds and people

As I colour in these bubbles
A great realization comes to me
These are not only the Bubbles of Life
They are the deep deep
Yearnings of my Soul!

So I will try to keep these in mind
As I go about my days
And come back to this page from time to time
To refresh my memory!

I’ll try to invite these wonderful things
From all of the bubbles there
Into my life each day or so
And give them lots of attention and care!

In this way I’ll feed my soul
Keeping in that wonderful flow
Of the energy of the Universe
And life will be complete!!!
